Jal Jeevan Mission

Jal Jeevan Mission, is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India. The Jal Jeevan Mission will be based on a community approach to water and will include extensive Information, Education and communication as a key component of the mission. In line with the Jal Jeevan Mission Grameen Sahara has actively working as an Implementation Support Agency (ISA) under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Project under Public Health Engineering Division, Assam in Kamrup and Goalpara districts. Our objective is to mobilize the community and create awareness about water sanitation as well as to facilitate constitution of sub-committee, i.e., Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) and to build capacities of its functionaries. Another prime objective is to conduct need assessment of the Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTCs). In both the districts we have successfully covered 27665 numbers of households in 116 number of villages under 2 development blocks.
